Drawing on a strong background in church choir music, Carr developed a powerful vocal style that blends soulful melodies with modern Afrobeats rhythms. Early life

Zulu Carr was born in Grand Gedeh County in the city of Zwedru, Liberia, to Roland and Elizabeth Yancy Carr. During his early childhood, Liberia experienced civil unrest that significantly impacted many families across the country.
